I’m a luger, baby — Volunteer Park toboggan run anyone?

Forget the statistical analysis in this post: Capitol Hill’s best place to snow sled. To figure out where to sled in Volunteer Park, nothing beats an eyewitness account.

By this point, it’s probably more of a luge track than a snowy hill but still could be fun.

Thanks for letting me know. Went over there and it was empty. Decent sledding too considering its right smack in the neighborhood!!

We have a friend who broke her leg sledding in Volunteer Park some time ago (remember the snow right after new year’s?). It took her a good year to heal up, with more than one surgery to get her bones healing and supported. Forever more, Volunteer Park is the “cursed sledding hill”.

Hi, We sledded in Volunteer Park back in the 1940s when we were kids. The best sledding ever with our Dad pulling us along. Now some 60some years later, wish we could do it again!!! Enjoy your snow!
