Neighbor WesaTurtle heard that the owner of Twice Sold Tales made a bid on the Rainbow space.
Could the bohemian used book “chain” be relocating its Capitol Hill outlet to 15th Ave? The Slog recently posted that Twice Sold was on the move as a mixed-use development is slated to replace their current building at John and Broadway.
We’d be happy to see Twice Sold come to the neighborhood. Sure, Twice wouldn’t be as sexy as a big retailer like, say, The Gap…
But it would definitely fit into the ‘hood and make for a nice double-header with Victrola or Remedy or Liberty or 22 Doors, etc. — stock up on reading material then snuggle up with your favorite beverage. Good times!

What about Horizon Books then?
Probably not good news but Twice Sold doesn’t strike me as, how should we say it, predatory so maybe they can be friends.
Shucks. I was hoping for Thai food.
Only a rumor. Somebody else could have won the bid. Anybody seen bookshelves being installed?
Twice Sold Tales is on the move because the property will be purchased by Sound Transit for the Link light rail station construction. The northeast entrance to the Capitol Hill station will be where Twice Sold, the Chamber of Commerce, and Perfect Copy & Print are now.
Phil, are you calling Mudede somewhat unreliable?
Horizon serves my used book needs just fine.
I’m still holding out for a hobby/RC store.
