Can Starbucks win back Seattle? Victrola: I don't think so

We noticed some crazy pictures in our CHS flickr pool this morning -- turns out, Victrola was on national tee vee as CBS covered the latest PR push from Starbucks.

Our favorite moments from the segment: Victrola barista gruffly dismissing reporter's question about likelihood of SBUX winning back its hometown. And Starbucks employee on push-button lattes: You still have to pour the milk in. True.

While the entire thing is overblown, it is fun to see a discussion of the city's -- and this neighborhood's -- culture taking place on the national stage.

7 minutes for the whole post? We spend at least 7 minutes just re-writing our genius conclusions.

As for CBS, don't worry -- they'll soon be out the news business it seems. We kind of liked the story -- but we stopped watching when they cut to Howard.

Starbucks never lost me! I love the shops, the people, the atmosphere, the consistency, the cleanliness, the community, the foods, the books, friendliness, the chatter, the music, the creativity....pretty much everything.

God. I spent a good 7 minutes today writing a post complimenting (sort of) Starbucks and their new blend. Then I watch this horrible, horrible shill piece by CBS and listen to Howard tell us "it's all about the customers" when it's obvious it's actually all about Howard and now I'm all about hating Starbucks again.

The best thing Howard Schultz can do is to shut the hell up. I feel slimed every time he talks.
