3 things we learned about Half Pint Ice Cream

Had the opportunity to chat up the Half Pint Ice Cream folks at last Sunday’s farmers’ market while enjoying a cup of creamy toasted coconut wonderfulness.

Here’s the scoop:

  • No plans for a brick and mortar location yet. Sunday market will have to do for now. I told them there will be revolt if they open a store anywhere but 15th Ave.
  • Victrola is rumored to be getting a freezer — but Half Pint wouldn’t say if they were in line to be the ice cream provider.
  • Toasted coconut ice cream is delicious.

There you have it. See you in line next Sunday.

Check out this post for more on the delicious offerings of the Broadway farmers’ market.

If only the rents at 15th and John Court were not so expensive. That would be a perfect location for an ice cream shop…maybe we would see people using the small park between John Court and John Street while eating tasty ice cream.

Now that the jewelery shop is gone, there’s an empty slot at the Loveless. It’d be great to be able to get ice cream before/after a movie at the Harvard Exit.

There should always be an ice cream place within view of a movie theater. There should be a law.

Back in the day, it was all about Danken’s after movies at the Neptune or Varsity.

Seconding the suggestion of Loveless! I can’t imagine the rent there is cheap, though…

Still remember me, the ugly stupid old Asian guy who
comes to your Lake City stall on every Thursday? Probably not! Ice Cream could be enjoyed all round the year. If you have time talk with me, call me. I
wish you to become the first non-Giant American Corporation to sell ice cream all over Asia. Think
BIG, please. Best regards from the stupid guy,
