Quick call to the city parks department confirms the info passed along by neighbor Mike -- Volunteer Park wading pool will open its season NEXT weekend. Sorry kids. No blue lips for you!

Children of Capitol Hill, your long months of suffering are over. Saturday, the Volunteer Park wading pool opens for "summer."

It's time to put that tolerance to frostbite you developed playing in the Miller Fountain to work.
