The Stranger readying neighborhood blog killer?

We were hoping for "How was it?" dot com

If you are not getting your fill of opportunities to share your thoughts about the neighborhood here on CHS, looks like The Stranger is about to give you more. Scott over at CDN noticed some curious traffic to his site that led him here -- yousaidit.com -- site says it's about to debut soon on "The Stranger" (whatever that means)

What is it? Domain is registered to this guy, Charles Borwick, a tech start-up and marketing guy here in Seattle. Linked In says former Jobster-ite Marty Unger is the brains part of the fun. According to their privacy policy, HQ is right here on Capitol Hill over on 14th Ave E.

So, we're guessing Slog on human growth hormone emphasizing the community element (loose term!) currently found in the comments of Dan Savage's penny groundlings. Should be good times and hopefully more interesting than Seattle PI Webtowns. Could bring CHS to its knees (we'll never sell, Savage).

Remember when media outlets used to write stuff and you read it? Switched that around on you, didn't we!

Nothing to do with neighborhood blogs
I'm sure this has nothing to do with neighborhood blogs. Savage and other have been saying they're implementing registration on the blog soon, and hints at user avatars and profiles. YouSaidIt is the contractor being used to implement this, I'm sure.

Take a look at some of YouSaidIt's sample pages... I'm sure Slog's comments will look something like this soon, but more tailored to blog comments instead of a forum:

The comment section will be just as bad as the Slog, no doubt. I like CHS because the commenters are generally a happy-go-lucky bunch that like to converse, not snark-attack everyone out of habit.

if they have a west seattle section ...
... just hope that will cure their writers of the frequent bouts of "I had to leave the city ... and go to WEST SEATTLE!" (not a direct quote but close, I'm too lazy at the moment to look up the famous ECB bus rant)

My friends and I STILL make reference to that ECB story at least once every 3 months. The one about "should wheelchairs be allowed on express buses" is also a classic.

Seattle used to be so much cooler. I hate condos. And most straight people. And families with children. And corporations. Except the one I work for as a wage slave cuz I gotta earn money to buy me some Fleet Foxes tix. Forget this - I'm moving to Portland.

These guys have been working down the hall from us for nearly a year. this is the first time i've gotten a peek into what they're doing. they're not on 14th though, they're on Pine and Boylston.
