Gorilla gardening anyone?

I’ve been walking around Capitol Hill and have been noticing the vacant lots with color pencil advertisement “buy your inivisa-condo today starting in the low 500’s”. I have not been too sure what to do about these bone yards until recently. While at Trader Joe’s I almost bought a basil plant until I read that they require lots of sun. My apartment does not get lots of sun but the bone yards do. I was thinking about a little gorilla gardening. There is a lot on Federal and Republican St. that gets tons of sun and just waiting to be used before “builders” come. I’m thinking of going as soon as this weekend. Anyone interested?

cool. but...
murphy's law dictates that you'll start some nice plants but then right before harvest time you'll show up one morning to find the lot completely cleared by builders getting ready to start... :)

nonetheless I think it's a neat idea and will keep an eye out for revoluationary radishes and "guerilla" green beans.

Another Suggestion...
Why not chat with a neighbor who does get a lot of sun and look into a community garden project? That way you know your tender basil will stay safe from the bulldozers.

Sounds like a plan
But I wouldn't attempt it unless I were a silverback.

Guerrilla
It's "guerrilla" gardening, actually, and I'd totally be in, but I'm out of town this weekend...

I am in love with whoever has planted sunflowers in a tiny patch of dirt along a parking strip on Bellevue...

I remember the Gorilla Gardens.
That Accused show on Halloween in 1984 was fun.
