New Capitol Hill Park Update/Meeting

Hi all,

The Parks website for the Capitol Hill Park has been updated. Please note, there is a misspelling under the bullet for "Plaza and Benches": I had used the word "allee" but it was edited to "alley" by another staff person. This error will be changed once the webmaster returns from vacation. Just to clarify, an "allee" is a French term meaning "a road or pathway lined with trees to create an alleyway."
Mithun will be presenting the final design to the Design Commission next Thursday, 7/17 at 9:00 a.m. The overall concept is the same but some details have changed. I will post the concept on the website after the Design Commission has approved it.
Regards,
Lynn

Preferred design
I really like the "preferred" design. I went to early design reviews for this park and I'm glad they went back to the drawing board on the initial examples they showed. These final design are worlds better. Do we have an idea of how much more funds we need for the preferred option?

naming?
have they decided what to name this park? I think it would be a nice honor to name it "Shannon Harps Park".
