Vegan neon on 12th

Used to be crappy pizza. If nothing else, the signage is good.

I didn’t know the new place was going to be vegan. I’ll have to check it out. (The Quickie’s on 15th is really good, even though I’m not vegan.)

I actually liked the pizza place that was there before, Topolino’s, although I guess some people disagree?

Thanks for the tip, J! Any chance for a iPhone pic of their menu? I haven’t heard anything about this place yet and would love to know more about their offerings. Hungry vegans (still in mourning over The Globe, Coffee Messiah, and Green Cat) want to know! :)

I don’t think it is going to be completely vegan – the sign on the door just promises vegan and vegetarian options. I think it is the same owners as Topolino’s – I’ve seen one of the guys and his son working on the place in the last few weeks. The sign font is the same as the one they used on Topolino’s menu too.

you’re right, it is the same owners. I walk by like 50 times a day. Yes, 50.

I would be completely happy with a meat-friendly place that happened to have some vegan offerings. The explosion of trendy eating places on the hill that don’t even offer vegetarian selections, let alone vegan choices, has been very frustrating.

I’ve chatted up the father and son owners. They are nice people and I, along with a number of my friends, loved their old Topolino’s pizza. The seasoning was different, interesting. Now the Mexican food, that was another story. Can’t really defend those beans, but the pizza was far from “crappy” and I have a feeling the new stuff will also be pretty good.
