As neighbor Yancy likes to put it, we’re going meta on here again. Here’s a geek’s-worth of Hill related tidbits.
- Blogger suggests light rail station will further bifurcate Capitol Hill — “The aesthetic in the north is all shining windows and foliage, red brick and designer clothes; the aesthetic in the south, broad dim lights and small bright ones, neon counterpointed against black and industrial gray.”
- Cap to the Hill (happy 1st anniversary, btw) has Hill hipster appropriate Halloween costume suggestions.
- There’s a Capitol Hill clean up of I5 Shores this weekend that needs volunteers. Lend a hand if you have some time.
- What happened when they built a graffiti wall for the kiddies in UK.
- Seattle PI documents the small piece of really old Capitol Hill still alive and kicking inside a vacuum repair shop.
- Urban Golf this weekend.
For a few moments, I thought that the clean-up organizers had used the phrase “I-5 Shores” themselves. Surely someday…
there is going to be development on top of the light rail station — there’s no reason a generic brix building or, more likely, a building with more street retail won’t be built on the light rail station. of course, it won’t be until at least a couple years after the station is finished in 2016. :
I really like these “link roundup” posts, Justin!
