Here’s a rundown of a busy Friday on Capitol Hill to cap a busy week of news (Marion Apartments fire, Broadway pedestrian accident). You should also check out CDN’s coverage of the Halloween shooting near Garfield HS. Meanwhile, relatively quiet weekend on the Hill — we are following a few entries in the 911 logs including some kind of rescue reported early this morning at or near the Sorrento Hotel. Details when we get ’em. Got a tip? Send it in.

Got a few more details on the peculiar 911 entry re: the Sorrento Hotel. Turns out, somebody fell into a 10-foot cement “hole” near the Sorrento. Fire Dept didn’t know if it was somebody working or ??? but most of the responding units were quickly sent on way and person was taken to Harborview with unknown injuries. The lesson: watch out for 10-foot holes.
Turns out, Fire Dept didn’t know what was up, but SPD was all over it. Read this peculiar account:

Here’s a treat from Halloween night, about 2am:
my girlfriend’s Honda’s windshield shattered by thrown pumpkin, Harrison at 14th. Suspects seen walking around drunkenly.
Remains of pumpkin indicate it was big.
