Don't know why it took them all night to pull something together. Maybe they had hard time getting info from SPD -- I never did reach SPD public info officer and couldn't go to scene so missed briefing there. Finally KOMO radio had something this morning saying SPD confirmed the death and two injuries.
The PI always seems to be mostly static on Saturday and Sunday except for a few sports scores/stories and an occasional "breaking news" type story. They have the briefest recap of the shooting now as of 9:30am. Don't know what the deal is with Times other than staff probably focusing on the Sunday paper.
The Seattle Times has somewhat updated their (originally bare-bones) story this afternoon to include fuller details, interviews and a photo of the club (no names of victims given though).
I saw this call on the SFD 911 call listing soon after it happened but you're the first to offer any details. I'll be reading your site more often (along with the West Seattle Blog) Even though I live downtown.

The "14" in the SPD fire log presumably means "14 per rule", i.e. serious enough to require 14 officers on the scene. Very rare to see that (mostly "7 per rule"). Presumably used because it was a shooting in a club and they anticipated many injuries, which fortunately they didn't get. Only previous "14 per rule" I recall is with the Kyle Hull Capitol Hill slayings.
Actually, the response protocol generally requires 7 EMTs [Firefighters and Paramedics staffing either SFD Engines, Aid-Cars (i.e. - A-25) and Medic Units (i.e. - M-44)]for each victim that is traumatically injured or in cardiac arrest. That's what SFD deems the necessary number of personnel to adequately work ACLS and Trauma protocols at the scene, and to get the victim loaded for transport to Harborview.
This is why you see "14 per" when there is more than one known victim. A 14-per response will generally consume all available SFD/Medic resources in the vicinity for the duration of the call.
Andrew, here's the full working Seattlest link from what you posted (your url was cutoff - probably because the html editor in the comment section seems to be a little funky).
Isn't 14th and Madison on Capitol Hill? The CD gets a bad enough reputation as it is and it is too bad that it is now receiving more bad PR for what is in fact a Capitol Hill shooting.
Madison is the most commonly accepted boundary and the club is on the South side of the street so technically CD could be right. But it's a border area so both neighborhoods should probably be mentioned.
