CHS blotter: Suicide attempts, adult shoplifting

Central District News reports daily on the ugly, mundane, odd and sometimes humorous crimes that happen across the East Precinct including Capitol Hill. The police scanner crackles off another dispatch and they take note. I’ve looked for various ways to include a selection of their Capitol Hill reports — here’s another. Let’s try the weekly round-up approach. I think there is value in keeping up on the nastiness and strangeness that hits CDNews’ radar — if nothing else, it helps me as a reporter to keep track of the crime buzz in the neighborhood.

  1. What “adult bookstore” is on Broadway and Harrison? The only thing I can think of is Bailey/Coy, and that’s just… a bookstore.

  2. Details from the scanner can be confusing so it’s possible the scanner chatter referred to that intersection for the pursuit, not necessarily the location of the store. Or, on the flipside, the dispatcher might have had details from 911 call wrong.
