No felony charges in Howell airgun shooting

On Friday, we named the suspect in last week's strange air rifle shooting incident and reported that jail booking information seemed to indicate that the most serious charges in the case were not being pursued. County prosecutor's office contacted us to say that was not the case and that charges against suspect Jinwei Yang would be decided today.

This afternoon, we learn that, indeed, the case has not been referred to the King County prosecutor -- meaning there will be no felony level charges involved with the incident. Instead, case sits with Seattle Municipal Court which deals with misdemeanor level offences. Will check with them to find out what low-level charges the 21-year-old Chinese national Yang will ultimately face.

What about Yang?
I presume he's out on his own recognizance. I'm curious what he's up to, considering that I had my window shot at tonight with a BB gun.

RE: What about Yang?
Hey now, I saw your post and will add it to the homepage. Sorry for that to happen to you and your house. But let's not make him into a boogeyman. Jail register, btw, says he is still behind bars
