Sorry if you see some wacky stuff as we roll out the new bits. How do you like it?
the ad space, at the top of the page, is too much (and i work in advertising for a living); your pages just come off as cluttered. you really need to get rid of at least one of those spots. i hit a page here and immediately tune out the ad clutter.
now is you had a 728×90 under the chs banner and above the nav. and then maybe a 160×600 down the side i think it’d work better. but that’s just my $0.02.
I like it. Feels like there’s more breathing room, and it seems easier to read. Also, the larger right column is easier to find and read. And I’m glad that All Posts is back.
On the other hand, I would say the solid white background is a little too bright, kinda hard on my eyes.

Can the calendar/upcoming events box be at the top , so that it’s obvious without scrolling?
Overt “all posts” tab is great.
Seems to be something funky going on with the drop down menus from the tabs at the top of the page. In Firefox, the “Maps” menu sticks, once it’s open it doesn’t go away. In Safari, the drop down menus don’t appear at all.
When I go the /comments page, I see the old star voting options . . .
Otherwise looks good; I like the comments-in-boxes thing.
I think I agree with SeattleBrad above, it’s awfully white now. I think the right hand column could use more of a unifying background color.
Having 3 ads at the top might be a bit much, and the width of the ads don’t seem to work well with the width of the site.
You might also consider having the comment boxes be max-width by default, instead of narrowing for short comments. I do like the mild shading behind the comment boxes, though… that’s kinda what I’d like to see for the side bar, and maybe even the banner area at the top of the site.
Hey, you asked for comments, and I’m a software tester… you know I’m gonna complain! :-) But despite all my whining, it does look nicer than the old site. Keep up the good work, amigo.
Hi Justin, thanks for bringing back “all posts”. It was a little weird to only see stories that were filtered. I was wondering if the “most viewed” was a self fulfilling prophecy as most people could only see the most viewed category. It is nice to root around the odds and ends that are current but haven’t yet become worthy of a top post.
