Max, the Cap Hill dog on the run, doing fine

Remember that scared pooch’s scary adventure through traffic across Capitol Hill on Tuesday afternoon. We just heard from someone who says they are Max’s owner — Max, it seems, ran even farther than previously reported. And, we’re happy to note, is doing fine despite the ordeal.

Max
My crazy dog, who slipped out of his collar/leash, actually began his run in the Central district and then ran around the outskirts of the International District before streaking through the SU campus. A long while later, he managed to to collide with a truck. And yes, as part of his action adventure, he struck the front of the truck, tumbled underneath it, stopped for a second and then managed to keep running into Capitol Hill. Aside from needing a couple of stitches on his hind leg and sustaining grease marks on his face, he’s doing incredibly well.

A million thanks to the Seattle Police Department and Animal Control who finally grabbed a hold of him. Also, thanks to the folks on the SU campus who tried to run after him.

Needless to say, he has a new heavy duty harness and is taking much shorter walks for a while…
