Cap Hill Centered Bus Map

because Capitol Hill is the real center of the Universe (not Fremont) and all maps should be designed accordingly…

Speaking of London, I like their spider maps showing bus routes serving a tube station. I like them so much, I made a map of bus routes serving Capitol Hill Station on Broadway.

  1. Wow, thats pretty awesome. Makes us seem like one of those “world class” cities I’ve heard so much about. :) I don’t know if anyone else has seen them, but it also reminds me of these cool T-shirts that the Cap. Hill Clothing company “Zone 4″ makes. They are a cool design of an imaginary subway line running through Capitol Hill.

  2. I would love to see Metro get its act together and make a series of maps like this for different neighborhoods… Ah well, maybe someday.

  3. of course the pictures on this blog are always posted at such a tiny resolution that you could never make out the details on a picture like this.

  4. This is brilliant. I love it. I want a physical copy even if I just use my iphone for all transit directions now.

He should make the Ballard leg straight though – it doesn’t turn like that.

  5. The map only shows bus routes serving the future light rail station. That’s why there’s no 14 bus. Sorry.

I would have made the Ballard leg straight if I had the space. I know it’ll bug some people who know the routes well :D. I wanted to keep all the stop labels horizontal because I hated tilting my head to read those.

  6. Hey guys, my name is Ian Anderson and Zone Four is my clothing company. Our website is http://www.zone4printing.com, we do all of our online sales through http://www.zone4.etsy.com(also linked on the website). Thank you guys so much for your support and future feedback. I actually found this blog while trying to optimize our google ranking so any ‘hits’ or word-of-mouth advertisement would be great for our growing company. We also sell our shirts at the Pike Place Market in the craft section by the original starbucks.

again, thank you guys for the support and feedback.

  7. Seriously… Can we add the 14? This **rocks** but if it’s gonna be a cap hill bus map, then wouldn’t it be desirable to have all the key routes? Dozens++ of folks rock the 14 daily to/from the hill.

Thanks for considering it though I get that it would be a break from a light rail centric view of the world…
