'Suspicious item' causes brief bomb scare at Cal Anderson Park

Slog is reporting yet another 'suspicious item' causing a bomb scare on Capitol Hill. This afternoon's visit from the SPD bomb squad closed down a portion of Cal Anderson Park briefly around 3:00 PM before the investigators determined the item to be safe. The department does not typically disclose what the suspicious items in investigations like this turn out to be.
