The obvious punchline to Friday's incident involving a young man walking down Broadway headed to a zombie costume contest in a freaky get-up, the several 911 calls his costume generated and the multiple police officers who responded to Metro Clothing only to find out they were in the middle of a zombie crawl?
The kid won the contest, Metro's owner Carl Medeiros told CHS. The winner's prize in addition to eventually being released by officers? A pass to the upcoming Crypticon horror convention.
Differing opinions from our comments. Neighbor Dan says the costume was obvious:
Clearly in costume
Saw this guy yesterday. It was pretty obvious he was in costume, because he was with three other people that were dressed up. The gun had an orange tip on it.
While carmen2
said the zombie get-up went over the line:
thought it was a little realistic
I also saw this guy...gotta say I was worried when I saw him b/c even though I could tell it was a costume I knew others might not. Even in the context of other people wearing costumes, his was a bit too realistic. People have been arrested or shot for much less (like, neon toy guns!) Anyhow, glad it at least ended without him being injured.
