Ok so it’s a recession – a really bad one. And our Mayor wants us to vote for another tax again on August 18?

I don’t get it. We live in Seattle. We’re all green….everyone recycles and reuses the plastic bags, and we all bring resuable bags to the grocery stores. Heck, we all know someone who wears vegan clothing. Why does the Mayor expect us to pay extra for something we already do?

The other aspect I was thinking of with this plastic bag tax was low income families – how are they expected to pay extra? All the revenue will do is create another useless City of Seattle department to “administer” the tax.

Anyone else have some strong opinions on this?
