on Capitol Hill Originally uploaded by joshc
Gamma Ray Games owner Eric Logan sent out this e-mail over the weekend updating everybody on how the first 10 weeks of business have gone since CHS helped introduce the new gaming store to the Hill back in May, including an important reminder and thanking everybody for their support.
Thanks everyone for the warm, warm welcome – it’s been an amazing 10 weeks since we opened. Here’s an update on the latest news at Gamma Ray Games:
- Stop by on Tuesdays! We’re now open from 12 – 8pm
- The gaming loft is open when we are – complete with game library and AC. Come by to check out a game or join in the play.
- Hosted gaming events currently include two D& D campaigns (one 4th ed. and one 3.5), biweekly Magic booster drafts, Sunday afternoon boardgames, two different Meetup Groups and a slate of one-off events. Want to join in the fun? Want to host an event of your own? Just let me know!
- Our inaugural monthly art installation is now on display featuring the work of Matthew Collins as part of Blitz, Capitol Hill’s art walk on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
- Gamma Ray Games is welcoming PAX to town with a big Labor Day Weekend Sale featuring 20% off a range of games and merchandise plus an additional 10% off on everything in store for anyone holding a valid PAX pass.
- Speaking of discounts, if you took our initial survey and haven’t redeemed your 20% off coupon yet you still have two weeks left. Survey coupons expire Sunday August 30th are good for an entire purchase – not just a single item – and do not require a physical printout to redeem (the store has a list of coupon recipients).

On behalf of myself, store manager Dane, and our friends and families, I want to thank everyone again for your support, encouragement and patronage. It’s been exciting. It’s been exhilarating. It’s been a pleasure. And this is just the beginning.
See you soon,
Eric
