Capitol Hill Snapshot (#1) - Cal Anderson Park

This is the first in what will be a weekly series of ambient shots around Capitol Hill.  Every week I'll pick a different spot and stay for about 10 minutes to create a 'snapshot' of that location at that moment. 

One of the best things about living on Capitol Hill is that no matter when/ where you are, there is always so much happening around you, most of which we probably never notice.  Hopefully I can capture some of that through these snapshots.

Video needs work
Not to be unappreciative on David's effort, but spending two minutes showing rushing water as a snapshot is not my idea of good editing. And putting those obstructive captions is mostly distracting. David needs to re-think his effort and do more shooting and less effects.

Nice, but, could move a bit faster. Maybe some closer shots. Walking figures don't mean too much.

Where are the ducks? The sports field is BIG and FULL of people all day .. no shots of that ... keep it up.

Love small kids playing soccer ... feels like Madrid.

Is there such a thing as privacy?
Seems like a violation of privacy to me. Please don't film random people and then put them online like that. I for one do not appreciate that.

If you're in a public place (like, say, a park) you can't really have any sort of expectations of privacy. It's not as if he posted their names and phone numbers along with the video...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

@Mike With Curls - the sports field is not in it because I couldn't see it from the spot I picked. The idea is to pick one singular spot and look around from there. I did move my tripod once but only about 10 feet.

And yes, it could move a lot faster, and I also could've added techno music and flashing lights, but that kind of defeats the purpose of an ambient shot now doesn't it? :)

@JanaF - yes I thought about that while I was shooting and while I was editing. But how do you show a place without the people in it? If I were shooting people secretively that would be one thing, but I promise you I stick out like a sore thumb with my big tripod, camera and bags.
