Roy Stealth Starbucks construction

new entrance for Roy St Coffee and Tea.

When Capitol Hill's second stealth Starbucks (AKA Roy St Coffee and Tea) opens in the 700 Broadway building, it won't be sharing the inconspicuous, bubble filled entry way with FedEx Office next door.  Crews have installed stairs for what looks like a new, more prominent entrance on the Broadway side of the building (facing SW).

The inside still looks about how it looked over a month ago, with none of the interior in place.

And for those of you that hang out in the twitters, it looks like @RoyStCoffee is on there too, although they haven't tweeted anything yet.

Unbelievable
It still boggles my mind that anyone goes to Starbucks when they live on Capitol Hill. Stumptown & Cafe Vivace have the best coffee and the nicest people in the world. Caffe Ladro is terrific. Caffe Vita -- not my favorite, but still good. Top Pot. B&O makes amazing lattes. But Starbucks is going to open *another* store on Cap Hill, two blocks from their current one?!

RE: Unbelievable
I had never been in the Starbucks on 15th until it changed to 15th Ave Coffee and Tea. I no longer go to Victrola. While the coffee isn't as good, the attitude of the employees is better.

It boggles my mind why I changed but I'm not complaining.

P.S. 15th Ave Coffee and Tea has better pastries. The single origin espresso isn't that bad.

RE: Unbelievable
really? Meh, on the pastries but the americanos are either too bitter or burnt or something odd. Yeah, the baristas are nice. The nice ones down the street make better coffee.

RE: Unbelievable
It boggles your mind that people have different tastes in coffee, pastries, baristas, and attitude?

Personally, I'm just glad to see that coffee shops are thriving on Capitol Hill, and I wish them all the best of luck in these tough times, especially the ones owned by the large corporation that started the whole coffee shop trend.

nicer folks
I also enjoy the nice attitude of the 15th Ave Coffee and Tea people. I'll take somewhat lesser coffee with a smile.
