sick and tired of this

I am really disgusted at the frequency of heinous crimes committed by angry black men in our city. Yes, whites can be criminals too, but blacks commit crime way out of proportion to their percentage of the population.
It's complicated, of course, but I think the primary "root cause" is the breakdown of the black family over the past several decades, with the result that the majority of black kids are being raised by either a single mother or by other relatives. Some of these kids turn out OK, but many do not.
And, yes, I know that Monfort is just a suspect at this point, but it is very likely he did it.
Calhoun, you've been a member of this site for a long time so I am giving you the benefit of the doubt -- but hateful speech will not be accepted here. Out of context, it is hard to see your post as anything but racist (and even in your personal context, whatever that may be, many would also see racism). Please be considerate about the ideals you decide to share here.
He states that a disproportionate number of crimes are committed by black men given their percentage of the population (you could easily validate this). Maybe it is just a disproportionate number are convicted of crimes. He thinks the root cause of that disproportion is due to a breakdown of the family (mostly likely the lack of a father figure).
I do consider calhoun's comments to be hateful and stereotypical as well as ignorant. His comments ignore the fact that a disproportionate number of black men also are raised in poverty, and lack access to equitable educational AND financial resources, all through an accident of where they are born and who they are born to.
In ANY context I would find his comments offensive.
I merely stated a known fact regarding the level of crime by blacks, and then an opinion based on those facts....an opinion, I might add, that is shared by many black people.
It's too bad that censorship and political correctness gets in the way of an honest dialogue about race in this country.
