The first new stores in the Melrose Project opened for business this weekend a little behind schedule but with lots of enthusiasm for their new home. Sonic Boom and Velouria are tied at the hip -- the shops are neighbors in Ballard, too -- so one of you can do a little fashion shopping while the other flips through the used CD bin. Hopefully, Velouria owner Tes De Luna and Sonic Boom co-owner Jason Hughes like each other -- not only are their stores neighbors, the two are getting married this spring. Here's a look inside the new shops located on Melrose between Pike and Pine.
