No injuries in morning car fire on Broadway

We heard from several people about a car that that burst into flames near the intersection of E. John and Broadway in the middle of this morning’s commute.

We checked in with Seattle Fire Department spokesperson Dana Vander Houwen  who told us the fire caused no injuries and was quickly extinguished.

Thanks to Twitter user @globglob for the picture from the scene.

Meanwhile, in other Broadway and car-related news via Twitter, @benarson has posted a picture of an accident that happened around 11:45 AM at Broadway and Madison. Emergency medical crews were dispatched — we’ll update when we hear anything about injuries.

I went by the accident on the #12 around noon, at which point there were three ambulances on scene and at least two stretchers out. Looked like maybe they were about to try and get a backboard under someone in one of the cars, but I didn’t see much more than that. I hope everyone is okay!
