Capitol Hill Videos – Noisy neighbors edition

Hey, you! I know you’re excited about your new apartment with the giant dog on the side, but keep it down!

Actually after listening to that, it doesn’t sound so bad, suck it up downstairs people.

From noisy apartment neighbors, to noisy blog neighbors… KOMO tries to stir up some controversy around the Jimi Hendrix statue’s possible move.   (a bit of free camera advice – avoid 350 degree camera spins when you could just turn it 10 degrees in the other direction… @ :20)

The Soft Pack plays “C’Mon” at an in-store appearance at the new Sonic Boom Records.

Seattle Channel profiles three Seattle area chefs that source sustainably, including Carrie Mashaney of Spinasse.

Director Terrence Brown posted an excerpt from his documentary short “Bailey Boushay House: A Living History.”

And lastly, some tourists show us what North Cap Hill looks like from the sky.

What was supposed to be the point of the “neighbors” video other than having someone expose me to a minute and a half of jerky video?

I’m not sure that that video proved.

But serious question though. What do you do with sh*tty neighbors?

After asking them nicely in person, writing a NICE note and being quiet respectful neighbors ourselves, does anyone have any good suggestions on what to do with neighbors that are EXTREMELY loud. Banging, slamming doors, STOMPING and playing blaring boom boom music until 2-3-4 in the morn or early 4-5-6. They just don’t give a f*ck. (And talking to the landlord won’t do anything)

Seriously, I’m about to go out of my mind or end up on the news for murder. Has anyone had any luck with anything?

P.S. I’d appreciate any comments. Even snarky smarmy ones from people who are the “bad neighbors” themselves!

I hear you — seriously, my upstairs neighbors are EXACTLY like that — they installed hardwoods on my ceiling even though there is a clause in our Condo bylaws stating that they need to get permission — did that happen? NO, of course not. When brought to the board’s attention do they care? NO, of course not — they don’t hear it. Oh, that bylaw — we didn’t know it existed….hahaha (like I should be the one penalized for doing my due diligence before buying the place and noting this, yet having nothing done by it…i checked this very thing out!) And I’m a friggin homeowner and even the condo association is seemingly oblivious as to why this low frequency loud thumping at 2 AM is a problem when I have to get up at 6 AM. All throughout the area — not restricted to one room (and I’ve tried sleeping in them all). Sure, I could move and void the $50k I put down as down payment — not an option.

If you need an accomplice quietNeighbor, let me know, and I’ll help you if you help me.

Honestly people — if you are lucky enough to not have the problem then praise whatever God you do. You have no idea how this can utterly, completely ruin your life. quietNeighbor you have my sympathy completely. And I too look for any interesting thoughts on this. Whatever will help.

Remember: I just want to sleep. Is that really asking too much?

Charlieb, I feel for you, I really do. As I type this they are slamming doors down there. SLAMMING. WTF? And that’s what they were doing this morning when they woke me up at 5. They just don’t give a f*ck.

Charlie, I bet your neighbors wear their shoes on the hardwood floors and stomp all hours of the night, too. How hard would it be for them to get a good pair of slippers? Maybe you could get them a pair. My neighbors are heal stompers so I doubt it would help. They literally make things shake up here with every step. Maybe I should make a video and send it to them?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve moved because of a$$hole neighbors. Can’t afford to move this time and our house is perfect other than the asshole neighbors.

I truly hate them though. I wish I knew vodoo and could curse them. I guess I kinda do already in my own way, but so far it’s not working.

PS. My neighbors also NEVER leave the house (no kidding, no job, no life) so I don’t get any respite from it either. I feel for the people out there that are in the same situation. Just like Charlib, I just want to sleep and have the right to relax in my own home. And since I’m not home all the time, we just got back from a trip this weekend, we have jobs and things to do during the day, I’m not asking for much. But sometimes we NEED TO SLEEP.

Sorry I’m rambling. But that happens when I don’t get sleep.
