No official confirmation from SFD or the Seattle Police Department on the details of the accident but we found one account on Twitter from Capitol Hill journalist Matt Hickey:

FYI Boren and Olive: 4 car, 17 person accident. And they’re all drinking. On their wrecked cars. Kinda cool.

UPDATE 9:05 AM:
Sounds like quite a scene but fortunately there were only minor injuries in the accident. According to SFD spokesperson Dana Vander Houwen, nobody needed to be removed from the vehicles and no injuries were serious enough to require transport to the hospital.

This is what disgusts me about the self-absorbed Capitol Hill type:

Um, actually it’s not funny at all, asshole. People drinking and driving is NOT fucking funny. And you’re an ignorant piece of dog shit for even thinking that. Seattle liberal = I care only about me, barely.

If 5 of those people had been bloodied up and killed, there’d be a pile of flowers there now. Maybe next time. Its funny how everyone’s a journalist now. I appreciate the citizen reportage for sure, but unless you are trained in and/or worked in the field or actually run a reputable newsy site, I’d hesitate to call a jerk like Hickey or anyone else a journalist.

Hickey writes for CNET among others thus qualifying for that lofty title:

I wonder if most of the readers of the unpaid cnet blog would find his DUI twitter posts (Along with many of his vulgar Stranger Slog posts) illuminating.

I would not call what he is doing on that blog journalism anyhow.
