Save The Date: First Capitol Hill community emergency preparedness meeting

As we recently reported, local resident Angela Wallis is putting together a Capitol Hill emergency preparedness group, called CHiPP (Capitol Hill Preparedness People).

The inaugural meeting will take place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, (Jan. 18), from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at Bluebird Homemade Ice Cream on 12th Ave. and Pike St.

The purpose of the meeting, says Angela, is to explain why preparedness is relevant and necessary for the community, what it actually means to be prepared and begin work on the 3-day survival kits. Also, they’ll be talking about networking with local businesses and organizations, as well as setting up a Capitol Hill response team and begin emergency training.

Come with your questions and sweet tooth for ice cream, Angela and other neighbors with preparedness expertise will be waiting and ready to answer all your questions!

You can email Angela at caphillpreparednesspeople@gmail.com for more information and follow her on Twitter@amwallis .
