Fighting for Public Education (since the Democrats and Republicans won't)
"I'm gonna relate to you a little bit of SCCC history today. When the budget cuts started happening last year, our campus administration did nothing to listen to our concerns. They automatically cut 40 classes and several thousands of dollars for student funding. We were surprise and we scrabbled for answers, we asked the administration for transparency and we even offered alternative solutions to prevent the cuts. Concerned students who had never organized before approached the school administrators with a great deal of respect, concerns and full of questions, and how did the administration act in return? They did everything in their power in order to prevent us from organizing with fellow students and professors; as individuals and as a movement altogether they tried to destroy our reputations, the called us rabble rousers, they said we were disrespectful students and they treated us like children, we were purposely uninvited to budget cut meetings, and approached by so-called liberals professors and told to remain silent at these meetings. We were accused of inciting violence by the public relations representative on our campus, which was used as a scare tactic to humiliate us. She even went even further and accused several of the active students as being paid informants by outside organizations, with a mission to embed themselves on campus in order to rattle the cages. They called us radicals even before we were radicals.
However we keep organizing, we had our very public show more

What is "scrabbled" or was that covered in a class they cut?
