Agenda: Elliott Bay block party, community council votes on Cal Anderson Pride event

Capitol Hill is keeping its community news site busy this week. Hope you can make time to be part of it on Thursday night. See you out there.

  • Seattle’s largest independent book seller has moved into its Capitol Hill home. Join in a community welcome party on 10th Ave with music, food and drink to celebrate Elliott Bay Book Co.’s grand opening. Band Let’s Get Lost plays while City of Seattle dignitaries get their book on. Weather is supposed to be lovely. 4 to 7 PM on 10th between Pike and Pine.
  • It’s the third Thursday of the month so that means Capitol Hill Community Council meeting time. They don’t start until 7 PM so it makes a good doubleheader with the Elliott Bay fun. And there’s some important stuff on the docket including a vote on a plan to create a new Pride Weekend event in Cal Anderson Park and updates on the streetcar planning process. Full agenda here. 7 to 9 PM in the Cal Anderson Shelter House (southeast corner of park next to Bobby Morris playfield).
