This just in from Seattle Parks. Cal Anderson’s fountain is going to run dry starting Wednesday. Budget cuts? Nope. Time for maintenance.
Seattle Parks and Recreation will turn off the water to the water feature at Cal Anderson Park on Wednesday, April 7, for regularly scheduled maintenance. During the closure, workers will perform “spring cleaning,” including cleaning all the hard surfaces and the holding tank. Seattle Parks expects the fountain to be running normally again on the afternoon of Friday, April 9.
The feature, called “Waterworks,” was installed in 2005 as part of the Cal Anderson Park renovation project, which converted the old open-air reservoir to a covered, underground reservoir.
