Students serve up ‘appreciation’ breakfast at East Precinct

A little balance to our coverage of Friday’s anti-police demonstrations on Capitol Hill. Seattle University sent us a note about a group from the school providing Seattle Police with some goodwill earlier this week:

In the early morning hours, a small group of Seattle University students—joined by President Stephen Sundborg, S.J.—served up breakfast for Seattle Police officers in a show of appreciation for all they do to keep the community safe. Officers from the South and West Precincts joined their colleagues at the East Precinct near campus for the 2 a.m. breakfast call, which was organized by student Stephanie Squires, seen here with Father Sundborg and SPD officers.

Back in the day, SPD used to be able to receive gifts of food on a regular basis but we’re told it’s against the rules now. You can still drop chow by Fire Station 25 on E. Pine, though. Nothing like chocolate chip cookies to inspire heroic efforts from our local first responders.

What a nice thing to do. I’m sure the cops appreciated it.

I find your “fair and balanced” approach to be dishonest and just shows how much so-called liberals and progressives are led by conservatives and right wingers. Sorry, kid, but there’s no such thing as “fair and balanced” in a world in which cops beat children.

Kind of gross to have Father Sundborg joining them after I googled “Father Sundborg”.

good job. These guys are never thanked, until you call 911 in a panic!
