The suspect in this early May home invasion robbery reported on CHS knew exactly what he was after because he was the victim’s dope dealer, according to court documents reported by SeattleCrime:
A 20-year-old pot dealer is facing assault and burglary charges for allegedly ripping off one of his clients, a medical marijuana patient, on Capitol Hill earlier this month.
Prosecutors say on May 7th, Gizachew Degol Wondie, 20, and another unidentified man burst into the apartment of one of Wondie’s clients, assaulted him, and stole nearly $2,000, and a whole bunch of weed.
You may recall that the robbers in this incident made off with the man’s safe. According to the court docs, they made a decent haul. Inside the safe was $1700 cash, 3/4 ounce of medical marijuana, and 50 prescribed Oxycontin and Xanax pills.

I think that this happening is hideous. Some people who obviously do not live in the neighborhood and have no regard for anyone but themselves. They got away with a lot and in this economy people are getting extremely desperate. I feel bad for the person who was robbed.
I read the longer article at SeattleCrime and why was this guy arrested and was released the next day?
Why is a medical marijuana patient buying from a dealer?
Medical marijuana possession and use is legal by WA state law (if you have a documented prescription) but selling medical marijuana is not. We have medical marijuana dispensaries in Seattle but they’re still illegal so they remain unmarked and stay under the radar. They’re just as legal under the law as any other dealer selling to a medical marijuana patient. Medical marijuana patients have to buy marijuana, plants, or seeds from a dealer breaking the law.
Compare that to California where medical marijuana dispensaries are licensed, have storefronts, and advertise.
WA state medical marijuana law is incomplete and ridiculous…
