Video visit to Volunteer Park: Why is there a statue of William Seward?

Turns out MOHAI has produced some pretty cool videos about the history of Seattle including this piece on the statue in Volunteer Park. Who is that stationary man, anyhow? They bring to mind our CHS-V Snapshot series — currently on hiatus while cheesecake takes care of his real job.
