A collective yawn: CHS community 2010 primary election guide

Ballots for the August 2010 primary election have been sent out and, to be honest, it’s not the most intriguing piece of mail you’ll get. The August slate for Capitol Hill voters is pretty boring. The top two primary process makes most of the selections a mere warm-up for fall — unless you want to try to be tricky and throw your vote behind a weaker candidate in hopes of an easy trouncing come November. So, there’s some strategergy at play here. We’ll turn that part over to the crowd. Let us know if there’s a ballot choice we should consider outside the conventional wisdom.

If you aren’t registered to vote in the primary, it’s not too late. You have until Monday, August 9 — eight days before the primary tally — to get signed up. All it will cost you is a trip to Tukwilla. You can learn more about that and check your registration status here .

Beyond that, there’s the excitement of democracy. We have some pretty progressive representatives (and Senators) working on our behalf. You might as well enjoy voting for them every opportunity you get.

Goodspaceguy is always on the ballot. Usually he is in there as Goodspaceguy Nelson. Read his bio, you’ll see there are plenty of good reasons to vote for him.

You do see a moving truck around labeled “Mike the Mover”. I suspect his is his cheap form of advertising.

I vaguely recall some lawsuit about his right to be so listed on the ballot.

Justin decorates the post with a graphic of one of the drop boxes which used to be available at assorted locations for those of us too cheap to stick a stamp on our ballots.

Government penny-pinching has pretty much eliminated the ballot drop boxes:

Your only real option (other than an exciting trip to Tukwilla) is:

Seattle, King County Administration Building, 500 Fourth Ave., 98104
