Z Pizza opens in Broadway Building with free slices — UPDATE: Free hot dogs, too

The newest of new era restaurant chains to come to Broadway opens tonight with free chow, according to this guy  (and verified by Z’s corporate Twitter account!):

Z joins kaiten sushi concept Genki Sushi in the Broadway Building development. Panera Bakery is also slated to open “soon” in the space — they’ve put up even more promissory signs in their windows since our recent post questioning their ability to turn the store around so quickly.

Meanwhile, tonight is also the August CHS happy hour at Unicorn starting at 5:30. Grab some free pizza and stop by.

UPDATE: Free Comet Dogs on Thursday says this PR mail from JanSport:

Two Free Slices per Person was the deal at lunch today… probably the same for dinner. It was good stuff! I think it will thrive with the college right there.

Not free… but good balance for all that pizza and hot dog action.

Stopped by. No HVAC, no ventilation. It was a literal oven in there. Left when we neared the threshold.

If they expect people to pay, they need to work out that kink.

Felt terrible for their employees.

I’ll have to give this place a try and see how they are. I’ve already given up on the sushi joint that opened in the same building.

Neither of the two new sushi places are worth much …

What is this, quite surprised.

Back to Viet Nam food joints.

My partner and I live in the building above Z Pizza and had a chance to try it out last night. SOOOO yummy! Somoeone menioned the HVAC, and I’m sure that will be worked out as it was their first night. I would seriously recommend this place to anyone! We’ll be going back regularly.

Went to score a free slice around 7 last night but alas, the HVAC (mentioned in previous posts) had made it too hot for them to continue cooking. There was a very nice woman outside to greet us and let us know what happened, she also gave us coupons for free pizza another time. The menu looked great and we’ll definitely be going back to try it out.

PS. The homeless people that got the free slices were pretty stoked

I went to Z pizza with a couple friends at 7:30 almost exactly, we walked in and some girl cut us off saying that the place was closed. She said the store was not open and they were ‘doing employee training today’. When I called her out and mentioned the free slices she changed her story, but we didn’t get coupons or anything. There were a ton of employees in the store eating pizza and there was a bunch of pizza still on the counter.

I don’t appreciate being lied to and I will not be back to this place. There are enough pizza places on the hill that I don’t need to waste my time with a place like this.
