Police responded to a snatch and run theft from a customer inside of in the middle of happy hour early Friday evening. A manager at the restaurant gave chase to the crook who took off with an undisclosed item from the customer and ran outside. The manager couldn’t catch the thief but did see him flee the scene in a dark blue SUV. It was believed a parking enforcement officer in the area may have captured the getaway car’s plates. The driver of the SUV was described as a white male in his 20s, with dark hair and wearing a t-shirt.
It wasn’t the only SUV-related snatch and run in the area on Friday.
Earlier in the day, our partners at Central District News reported the theft of some high-tech booty from Madison’s sandwich shop. According to CDN, the victim was having a late lunch inside the shop while reading on his iPad when a man ran into Fevre, grabbed the iPad and fled the shop. The man’s getaway vehicle was described as a white SUV.
same thing happened outside Petirosso at 11th & E Pike yesterday. I walked out of my office to see a guy chasing another guy down the street, he caught up with him about half way to Union and grabbed his laptop back. I guess he was sitting at one of the outside tables when someone grabbed his laptop and ran.

I had a clear view of the perpetrator running away from Julia’s. His t-shirt was white and sleeveless, and I believe he was wearing jeans. Medium-ish build, dark hair. He was white.
Oh, and there was some nut dressed in army camouflage in front of me at the Chase Bank across the street who yelled across the street at the victim “that’s what you get for not believing in second amendment rights!” Such an a**hole.
