SeattleCrime: Rocks thrown at transgendered woman in Pike/Pine hate crime

Early last Thursday morning, Seattle Police responded to the East Pine Shell station where two victims reported an ugly incident on Broadway. Here are the details from the SPD report on the September 2nd attack from SeattleCrime:

Seattle police are investigating another case of malicious harassment—Washington’s hate crime statute—after a group of men hurled epithets and rocks at a transgendered woman on Capitol Hill last week.

The victim told police “four suspects were trying to talk with [her] to hook up” and had complimented her on her legs when “the suspects realized that he was a male and not a female,” according to a police report.

According to police radio reports from the incident, the suspects were described as a white male and three black males wearing black clothing. At least one of the men also had shiny gold or silver trim. The victims reported that the group fled the scene via Pike. If you have any information about the incident, contact the East Precinct at (206) 684-4300.

This incident makes my blood boil.

Really pleased the victim of this deliberate attack for the sake of malice was not killed …. that happens all too often. But, I know it sure as hell was a trauma.

Hope some body can help the cops solve this crime.

Mike – need some hard justice here – Curls

it kind of amazes me that this happens ESPECIALLY on the hill – i always considered this neighborhood to be more friendly towards people of all walks of life. how disappointing :/

Don’t assume Seattle is a safe haven from this kind of crap. It’s not, unfortunately. Many times these things go unreported!

This happened on Pike/Pine? I’d suggest going directly into the nearest business and calling 911.

When I moved to Capitol Hill 10 years ago we had the Q-Patrol just having there presence I think made a huge statement that we will not be messed with. This area has been the center point for a recent string of violence and hate crimes. We as a community need to pick up the pieces and throw out the trash. It’s time we join together and take back our Neighborhood. This is sick!

I believe you may be on to something here. Q-patrol might be necessary. This type of hate disgusts me. All hate disgusts me, but this…I hope that she is alright, and feels embraced by this community. This is not the Seattle that I want to live in.

Has been creeping up.

I’ve been seeing more douchey pop-collars trying to hook up in the Unicorn and Cha-Cha as of late.

But yes, either way these creeps don’t live on or close to the hill.

Confused,
The popped-collared douchebags are welcome on Capitol Hill as long as they don’t act like, well, douchbags.

“So much for being open to diversity.”

Hahahahh there is 0% tolerance for violent, racist, sexist homophobes. It’s not their dress, it’s the bigoted/pussy-hound attitudes that are to blame.

If you wouldn’t let a trans person into your home, stay the fuck out of these clubs and off our streets.

There has been talk and I have been involved with meetings of the return of Q-Patrol.
