The SunBreak On the List: September 15-21 — Pearl throws a block party

Here’s the rundown of this week’s best and brightest from around the city. On Capitol Hill, the last block party of the season plays out in the lot at 15th and Madison. The Pearl is throwing quite a shindig. Here are the details from organizer Shanon Thorson:

The Pearl Block Party will be Saturday, September 18th from 12-6.  We encourage fans of the hill, residents, families and everyone nearby to come and celebrate with us.

We will be having a beer garden in support of Three Dollar Bill Cinema featuring house wines from Poco Wine Room, Parfaits ice cream truck to supply you with all the organic ice cream your heart desires, haircuts from Emerson Salon, Babeland giveaways, a second beer garden in our back courtyard hosted by social media giants Banyan Branch and retail booths from the likes of Retail Therapy, Port Shy and Pillow Fight Designs.  On your way to the courtyard you can check out the pop-up art gallery from Bilinear Art Consulting in our lobby.

DJ’s Colby B from Comeback and Bret Law will be performing in front of our building while while TigerBeat and DJ Marty Mar will be in the back courtyard with the Banyan Branch team.

Our commercial residents (Healeo, Anchovies & Olives, Seattle Yoga Arts and Envy) will all be doing promotion for that day too.  Giveaways, promos and more!

You can learn more and get last minute updates via Facebook.

Mount Zion partying too: Just up the street and also on Saturday, Mount Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Zion Fest including music, 3-on-3 basketball tournament and, hey kids, bounce houses. Details here.

Is it weird that an condo bldg is hosting a block party? Is it to get people to move in there or what? I am suspect… they are trying to make it look all cool.

According to Emerson they’re just handing out coupons, not actually giving haircuts.
