Skateboard assault in Pike/Pine

Seattle police searched for three people involved with an assault early Thursday morning in which a man was struck in the head with a skateboard causing a serious injury.

According to East Precinct radio transmissions, a man was hit in the head by an assailant swinging a skateboard around 1:30 Thursday morning bloodying the victim somewhere near 11th and Pike. The suspects in the assault was described as a white male wearing a ripped t-shirt and another white male with long hair wearing a red shirt. Police said they were accompanied by a black female in her 20s, with short hair, wearing a red hat, black jacket and striped jeans.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspects. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to treat the victim. It’s not clear from the radio transmissions what sparked the confrontation.
