Restaurants ready to cook for the Hill on Christmas Eve

A bit of Xmas Bling
, originally uploaded by ERIK98122.

We’ve hollered on Twitter and Facebook a few times about ideas for Christmas eve dinners at restaurants (and bars!) on the Hill. Below are some of the ideas we heard — your reservation luck this late in game may vary. A few clues on New Year’s Eve meals below, too. As usual, we’ll have a list of Christmas Day coffee hours later this week. Want us to add something to the mix? [email protected]

  • Crush: “Celebrate Christmas Eve with family and friends at Crush with a four course dinner for only $60 (excluding tax and gratuity). The staff at Crush will be joyfully making Christmas Eve memorable with a menu featuring Lobster and Pumpkin Soup; Slow Roasted Alaskan Salmon with sunchokes and Meyer Lemon, sautéed chanterelles and pancetta; Anderson Valley Lamb Chops with syrah sauce, figs and apples; and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie with sous vide cranberries. Dinner ends with a special gift for you or take it home for Old St. Nick – milk and Crush’s own Christmas Cookies. We’re sure Santa will leave an extra special gift after tasting these cookies!”

  • Olivar: “Finally I have finished my menus for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.  Wild boar is my choice of meat this year as well as chestnut for my dessert.  Book your reservations now as space is limited.  You can check out the menu on the website.”
  • Tidbit Bistro: “We are very excited about spending our first Christmas and New Year’s Eves in our new location. This year we will be regularly open on Friday December 24th.  Please, keep us in mind if you are looking for a warm and friendly place for that night!”
  • Anchovies & Olives: “will be open on Christmas Eve. Dinner from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. And join us for a special menu on New Year’s Eve”
  • Lindas Seattle: “We are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!! Come make merry with us!”
  • Sitka & Spruce: They’re doing a special Christmas Eve meal — that you’re probably too late to get in on.
  • Plum: “RSVP for Christmas Eve Brunch —  Each year Plum Bistro is happy to spend the holidays with our Plum Family by offering fresh and vegan home cooked meals during the holidays. Friday, December 24th, 11am-5p”
  • Monsoon: “Join us at Monsoon Seattle and Monsoon East for two different New Year’s Eve tasting menus.”
  • Volunteer Park Cafe: Closed Christmas eve. Ericka and Heather will be creating a fabulous dinner paired with wines for you to enjoy before heading out to ring in the New Year! A pre-funk, if you will.”
  • BottleNeck Lounge: Christmas Eve: 4:00 – 2
  • Rosebud: “Remember we will be open for dinner on Christmas eve and Christmas day as well. The day after Christmas we will be open for brunch and dinner. See you here.”

I dropped in and asked whether they would be open Christmas Day and the guy said yes, with a buffet 11am – 3pm. I didn’t know the price. It’s at 213 Broadway Ave. E.

An update on the Canterbury dinner: Christmas dinner is served at 12:noon, buffet style at $10 a plate. Ham, potatoes and a variety of yummies as only the Canterbury can will be served. As always, stiff libations and conversation will also be served so bring your stockings, attitudes and smiles…Merry Christmas and Cheers!
