UW’s super indie meteorologist Cliff Mass says we’re going to get wet this weekend:

Behind the warm front there will be a shift to strong, warm ,moist southwesterly flow that is connected to the subtropics–known as an atmospheric river…or as we call it here, a pineapple express.

National Weather Service is warning about floods around the region. Here in the city, we might get “urban flooding” — Is your street a flooded mess? Andrew has some tips on what you can do if you’d rather not canoe.

  1. …of letting the leaves fall where they may. Or worse yet, blowing them into the street.

Try picking up a rake sometime, slackers.

  2. I’m one of them! Make sure you know an intersection or address it’s near and which corner of the intersection. Example: There is a clogged inlet at 11th Ave E & Pike street in the Southeast corner. Done and done. Oh, and try to call before it’s raining and flooding a street if possible. We get super busy since there’s typically only 1-3 people answering the calls for potentially 1.5 million people.
