I want to warn Capitol Hill dog owners that there’s a new dog in the neighborhood who is very dangerous. Last night while we were walking down the sidewalk towards Cal Anderson, she attacked my dog and severely broke his leg. Both the ulna and radius are fractured in multiple places and needed surgery to be repaired. The attack was unprovoked.
I had seen the dog earlier in my walk, and as soon as the owner saw my dog, he physically restrained his dog. The second time he saw us, he tried to restrain his dog, but he slipped and his dog attacked. Because they were in the shadows next to the sidewalk the second time, I did not see his dog at all until she attacked.
The dog is a medium-sized, tan pit bull/beagle mix (smaller than you would expect a pit bull to be). She lives near Cal Anderson. The owners are white, normal build, and appear to be in their 30s. If you see a dog fitting this description, exercise caution.
