- St. Valentine’s Day Semiformal Dinner & Dance at All Pilgrims to benefit Community Lunch on Capitol Hill
Community Lunch is working hard to keep up with the demand to feed the growing number of hungry and homeless community members on Capitol Hill. Last fall we launched a pilot of a third meal once a month, partnering with All Pilgrims Christian Church on Broadway to provide a Thursday supper in addition to the Tuesday and Friday lunch we already serve weekly at Central Lutheran Church. Community Lunch is anxious to put the monthly pilot meal into a full weekly program with the support of the congregation at All Pilgrims. However, there are some kitchen infrastructure updates that need to be made at All PIlgrims first, and they are holding a fundraiser in February to help with this effort. The fundraiser is a Valentine’s Day dinner/dance at All Pilgrims, on Friday, Feb 11th. $25 buys a great meal, wine, dancing and entertainment (from Captain Smartypants and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence). All the money raised will upgrade the All Pilgrims Church kitchen to make it “meal ready” for the Community Lunch 3rd meal.
