Capitol Hill Housing has been working to create affordable housing on the Hill since the nation’s bicentennial. To help mark the anniversary, the non-profit housing developer is putting out a call for pictures that capture its projects through the years — “From the Steven’s Neighborhood Housing Improvement Program’s lending library of tools to our recent renovation of the Holiday Apartments,” as the announcement puts it.
Have something to share? Add it to their 35th Anniversary Flickr group . The effort has just started so the group is currently empty — but we’re eager to check out examples of recent Hill imagery and the people who have lived and worked here.
Here’s the CHH announcement:
As we commemorate 35 years on the hill, we want to show the real history and diversity of CHH. From the Steven’s Neighborhood Housing Improvement Program’s lending library of tools to our recent renovation of the Holiday Apartments, Capitol Hill Housing has been deeply involved in this neighborhood. We want to celebrate that history, and that means hearing from YOU.
Have you lived in a CHH building? Worked in one? Were you involved with us at the beginning, or twenty years ago, or did you move in yesterday?
Tell us your story-and show us! We want to see what YOU remember of CHH. Send us your photos inside, in front of, around, next to, and above CHH buildings. It’s easy.
Go to the “Capitol Hill Housing 35th Anniversary” Flickr Group, join as a Contributor, and drop in your photos. Or, email them to [email protected].
…these stalwarts of Capitol Hill. A long history of preserving and building affordable housing so we can maintain diversity on Capitol Hill as the property values have skyrocketed since the Boeing bust of the early 70’s.
