Ballard on the Hill brings the marijuana dispensary wave to heart of Pike/Pine

We have one more location to add to a wave of cannabis providers that has cropped up on Capitol Hill this green and verdant Seattle spring. Happy 4/19, everybody. Meet Ballard on the Hill.

We don’t know anything about BOTH — nobody has yet responded to our e-mails and we didn’t find anybody to talk to when we stopped by a few days ago — beyond what’s available on their Facebook page. There, you’ll learn that BOTH previously operated a dispensary in Ballard that the group is closing down in favor of their new location on Capitol Hill. We found BOTH thanks to a few e-mail tips and a stroll through Pike/Pine. They’re also listed in the Stranger’s Pot Directory.

BOTH joins a suddenly crowded field emboldened by some signs of change in Olympia and Seattle’s marijuana enforcement policies. And, yeah, probably also inspired by the ongoing media coverage of the phenomenon. For the record, CHS treats its dispensary coverage in a similar fashion to how we might handle the opening of a new store or restaurant on the Hill. But we’re certainly aware the topic alone is sexy right now. Probably will be for a long, long time given the long-time prohibition against the drug.

On Wednesday, BOTH is hosting a 4/20 celebration at their 10th Ave location.

There’s a long-standing joke about Seattle having at least one coffee shop on each block…and it’s actually true in some parts of town.

Soon, it seems, there will be a marijuana dispensary on every block too. Can they all survive?

Judging by how much this city loves its cannabis, they just might. :P
