Report: Woman suffers severe beating at hands of man befriended at E Pike club

A woman suffered a broken nose and cuts to her head and face early last Sunday morning when a man she and friends had met earlier in the night at an E Pike nightclub turned on her when the two were left alone. According to his report to police, the woman's boyfriend said he arrived back at the parking lot from a trip to buy water at QFC to find the attack underway. The man told police he was able to knee and punch the man off his girlfriend. The attacker then fled the scene. Here's the entire freaky report on the early morning April 17th incident from the East Precinct. Blanks are redactions in the official report per SPD policy. No suspect description is included in the report.

On this date at approx. 0342 hours C/   called 911 from , 53   Tallman Av NW on behalf of his girlfriend, V/      She was reportedly assaulted 45 minutes earlier at a different location and was now at the hospital for treatment. I was dispatched and arrived at approx. 0352 hours.

I met   and   in an emergency treatment room.  V/   was being treated for a broken nose as well as cuts and abrasions to her face and remaining head areas.  The follow is a summary of the incident.

V/   and her boyfriend, W/    were out enjoying the evening at a nightclub called the "  ."  It is located at 7   East Pike Street.

Also present was a friend of W/   known only as "  " and a friend of V/   known only as "  ."

While in the club, W/   befriended a male who identified himself as"  ."  They left the club at approx. 0245 hours.  The man "  " was invited to go along with the group to continue enjoying the night out. All five walked to W/   vehicle, which he believes was parked in a lot across from a church a few blocks south.  My best estimate of this location was a "  " lot at 14   Boylston Av. E. This is directly across from a  .  As they arrived at the car, V/   sat in the front passenger seat. W/   was in the right rear, W/   in the left rear and S/   in the center rear.

All of the subjects were intoxicated, except W/  , the "designated driver."  Before leaving, W/   said he wanted to walk to a QFC store two blocks away in the 1400 Block of Harvard Av. E to get some water.

W/   joined him.   A few minutes later W/   saw his friend, W/   at the store.    said, "What are you doing here!"   W/   advised me, "As you can see, my girlfriend is very beautiful, so I started to panic when I realized she was alone in the car with a man I barely knew."

W/   said he ran back to his vehicle as fast as he could.  As he approached, he observed V/   on her knees outside the car, near the right rear door. S/   was on top of her and violently punching her repeatedly in the head with "undercut" blows.  W/   said he ran at the suspect with full force and struck him in the rib cage with his knee, knocking him off V/    He then began punching S/   in the face.

The suspect appeared stunned, then got up and ran away.  W/   said he believes he broke some of the suspect's ribs and may have knocked some teeth loose.  He claimed he didn't call 911 because the suspect had left the scene and didn't believe he could be caught.  He was later encouraged by hospital staff to call.

V/   said she had no recollection of the incident.  Additional witnesses were not available to interview. A broadcast was sent out to all East Precinct units with the suspect description. I checked the night club, which was closed and noted a video surveillance camera on the east side.  I

was unable to determine with certainty which lot the assault occurred in.

I lifted 4-latent print cards from outside the vehicle door where the assault took place.  W/   could not identify anything S/   may have touched and said he had not washed his car since 2009.  Unknown if the prints will be of any value.  In addition I photographed the victim, witness   and his vehicle.  They were advised to call if they thought of any additional information which could assist in identifying the suspect.

Note: S/   said he didn't know his address. He has recently moved into the Seattle area. The address he provided is that of his .
