Elysian Capitol Hill mourns ‘Cavy’

Capitol Hill’s Elysian closed early this sunny Wednesday in observance of the passing of Chris Cavanaugh. Last summer, friends organized a benefit at Neumos to help cover medical costs from the Elysian employee’s battle with leukemia:

The show is aptly titled FUCK CANCER and features the talents of Terry Radjaw, The Redwood Plan, Sweaty and more. Who cares if you don’t know you who they are. Proceeds go to Chris. Even the beer sales. So get out there and enjoy yourself some music why don’t you already.

Cavanaugh worked at Fremont’s Brouwers prior to his time at Elysian. He was 34 years old.

  1. Chris, you are awesome! Always have a smiling face on, no matter what was going on. It was great getting to know you. You’ll be missed but never forgotten. Hearts go out to his family!

  2. I’m saddened to hear of Christopher’s passing. While he and I were not close friends, we were hey-how’s-it-going? friendly for the past six years or so. I’ll miss him.
