Harem says goodbye to Capitol Hill — for a second time

Capitol Hill Middle-Eastern boutique Harem is going out of business. Again.

Earlier this month, we reported that the powers behind Po Dog and Emerson Salon were teaming up to create The Social, a new E Olive Way club that promises to be a little new media, a little gay and a whole lot of concept. Construction, by the way, is slated to start in June. Backers of the project told CHS they were working with some existing tenants to remain in the space as it is overhauled into “a three level 12,000 sqft ultra lounge/restaurant and nightclub.” Harem, apparently, is not sticking around.

A posting to Craigslist confirms the goodbye sale:

This is the second obituary CHS has posted for Victoria Landis’s shop. In February 2010, we reported on the loss of her lease on Broadway. That space will soon be home to cheesecake purveyor The Confectional. (If only Landis had called her shop “The Harem” things might have worked out differently.)

As the Craigslist ad notes, you can stop by 1715 E Olive Way — with cash! — through Saturday to help her clear out remaining inventory.

It’s downstairs in the tattoo shop.
